  2. No food or drinks - 6 hours prior to test.
• DEXA Scan
  
  1. 30 Minute Test
  2. Day before - Hold Calcium Intake.
  3. Day of test - Wear pants or slacks, no skirts or dresses. No zippers or buttons, or studs.
• PFT
  
  1. 30 Minute Test
  2. 4 hours prior testing - No inhalers, no smoking.
• Upper Extremity Test
  1. Wash Hands thoroughly with soap and water.
     
  2. Do not use Lotions or Oils
  3. Remove bracelets
  4. Remove rings on middle and pinky fingers.
• Lower Extremity Test
  1. Wash Feet thoroughly with soap and water.
     
  2. Do not use Lotions or Oils
  3. Remove Jewelry from ankles and toes.
  4. Do not wear Pantyhose
• Stress Test

                      Test - 3 Hours

1. Do not eat or drink anything except water for six hours before the test. Do not ear or drink anything with caffeine for 24 hours (one day) before the test
2. Do not use any medicines (over - the-counter or prescribed) that contain caffeine for 24 hours (one day) before the test.
3. Do not smoke or use chewing tobacco for six hours before the test.
4. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and walking shoes.
5. Bring a list of all medicines you are taking, or bring the pill bottles. Ask caregivers if you need to stop taking any of your usual medicines for a time before the tests.
6. If you have diabetes and are taking insulin, ask caregivers if you need to change the amount of insulin that you are taking.
7. Stop taking sildenafil citrate (Viagra) for 48 hours (two days) before this test. If you have chest pain during this test,  you may be given medicine called nitroglycerin to treat it. This medicine may cause very low blood pressure in people who have recently taken Viagra.
